Hi everyone 😌 My name is Guillaume [gijom] Rouan, I work as Digital Media Manager in a public regional cultural institution and I live between river, forest and ocean. I begin playing with digital since 1984 and now I’m particularly interested in the changes taking place in our societies and the new media.
🌍 “In all this South of the World” picks up on the message Édouard Glissant ↗ addressed to me during an interview at the symposium devoted to his poetics ↗ at the Sorbonne in 1998. As a student of comparative African and Creole literature at the time, this encounter profoundly changed my way of thinking the world, as well as my conception of relationships.
Here, I’m mostly trying to build bridges, to densify archipelagos, to link maps that often don’t reach themseves. And I chat, a lot (mostly in french), as much about literatures & narratives, semiotics, media, ecofeminism, imaginaries, techno-criticism, (goods) commons, ecology & living, eco-socio-design, crafts of making, cooperation & relationship, circular economy, free cultures, as about low tech.
